ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Wassim S. Shmaitilly is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MMD, Mena Medical Development – (offshore) SAL. In this role, Mr. Shmaitilly provides leadership and strategic vision in partnership with prestigious healthcare companies throughout the region. Mr. Shmaitilly is also a member of the External Academic Advisory Board at the College of Engineering at Rafik Hariri University.

Before his leadership roles at MMD, Mr. Shmaitilly was a Product Specialist for the MENA region at KARL STORZ Endoscopy – a world leader in the manufacture of endoscopic equipment and surgical instrumentation. Before his tenure at KARL STORZ, Mr. Shmaitilly was a member of the sales force of Gulf Medical Co. Ltd. – one of the largest distributors of medical equipment and supplies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

HOW WE GOT STARTED?

In 2010, we started as Mena Medical Development - MMD (offshore) S.A.L. as an organization based in Lebanon, we have always been interested in representing eminent manufacturers of medical and biomedical solutions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Over 10 years of operating within the field of quality healthcare delivery have made us an important partner to many of the world’s leading healthcare manufacturers.

We achieved our second milestone in 2019 when MEDMARKIT S.A.L was initiated to create and craft premium digital content for the healthcare industry. Since then, we have developed medical 2D/3D animation, immersive virtual reality videos, interactive virtual, augmented, and mixed reality platforms.
